Meals on Wheels London is a wonderful place to work and volunteer.  As an organization that delivers over 120,000 meals, 10,000 drives and unique services to support independence and well being. We are grateful to have one of the most dedicated and caring staff team's in the city.  Though with our volunteer base we are a workforce of over 450, our paid staff team consists of just 11 full-time staff and 14 part time-staff.  Our staff are committed to our organizational values of Support, Respect, Excellence, and Connectivity.

Meals on Wheels London is an organization that builds community and connection with every service we provide.  Our volunteer run services of Meal delivery and Transportation Services help about 2000 Londoners live more connected and independent lives in their own homes.  Each year we rely on the generocity of our community to help us reach a fundraisng target of about 15% of our annual budget through donor stewardship, fundraising activities and on-going corporate sponsorships.  Additionally, we tell the story of how our services are making a difference in people's lives and encourage folks to be involved with our organization as clients, volunteers, donors and supporters by sharing the message of our services. 

The Manager of Development and Community Engagement will lead our fund development and communications strategies, working with the team of staff at Meals on Wheels London and supported by an active volunteer Fund Development Board which you will equip to assist in meeting our annual targets.  You are a strategic thinker who thrives in building, maintaining and establishing relationships.  You are a great listener who catches the areas of alignment between corporate donors and our mission, and you are a problem solver who is quick to offer solutions to challenges that present themselves.  In this era of digital communication you are well versed in social media, and technology tools to help you stay in contact with key stakeholders and you have a proven method of tracking your contacts and successes.  You are a planner and an executer who loves a good party and can lead the execution of three main fundraising events each year. 

This role is part of our Leadership team and therefore is comfortable with owning the results and accountabilities of the Development and Community Engagement role, setting your agenda and prioritizing tasks to ensure the successful achievement of our annual and longer term goals as an organization.

INTAKE COORDINATOR AND CLIENT SERVICES SUPPORT (Click here for full job description) 

Are you a great listener who has proven assessment skills and experience offering support and referrals over the phone? Meals on Wheels London is seeking a positive team player to join us as the Intake Coordinator and Client Services Support.

This position reports to the Manager of Programs and Operations and will be responsible to review our current Intake process and manage its transfer to a centralized intake location (Cheshire London at 1111Elias St.). The Coordinator works as an extension of the Meals on Wheels London Team at the Central Intake location at one day per week and supports Client Services Associates and in our Meals on Wheels London office as needed for the onboarding of new clients to our services.  The position uses assessment, referral and support skills that are supported by an education in human services such as social services, gerontology or other healthcare education.  Additionally, the successful candidate will have availability to support the Meals on Wheels London team through occasional client services coverage and in adjusting to the new central intake processes.

  • Good understanding of London and Middlesex and community based health services, social services and resources
  • Excellent Listening and Communication skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications to an above average level
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Comfortable learning new computer applications and working in multiple applications
  • University Degree or College diploma and related experience in human services, social services or customer service.
